Phil Bracken is the Vice Chairman of Falcon Capital Advisors, a Washington DC-based Consulting Firm providing strategic advice, technical expertise, and engagement execution to the mortgage and credit markets.

Mr. Bracken has more than 40 years of senior-level mortgage banking experience in all aspects of mortgage market operations. He has held senior-level positions with leading lenders including Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and Prudential Home Mortgage.

For the past 15 years, Mr. Bracken has been Co-Chairman of the Consumer / Lender Roundtable in Washington, DC which includes the most influential Consumer Groups and many of the largest Lenders in America. Mr. Bracken helped form the Roundtable 15 years ago with the Consumer Federation of America.

Additionally, Mr. Bracken serves on the Advisory Board of the National Community Reinvestment Coalition and on the Board of Directors of the largest African American-owned housing counseling organization in the US – HomeFree USA. He also serves on the Board of Directors of The Mortgage Collaborative and Advisory Board of Finlocker; AiCurio; and HALO.

He is also Chairman and Founder of America’s Homeowner Alliance – the membership organization representing the 84 million existing (and all aspiring) homeowners of America.

Immediately prior to joining Falcon Capital Advisors, Mr. Bracken was Managing Director of VantageScore Solutions where he had responsibility for the Mortgage Marketplace and Government & Industry Relations.

He was previously EVP & Chief Policy Officer and Head of Government & Industry Relations for Radian Guaranty Mortgage Insurance, the largest private mortgage insurance company in the U.S.

He was formerly Executive Vice President and Head of Government & Industry Relations of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage (WFHM) and was Managing Director of Prudential Home Mortgage prior to its purchase by Wells Fargo. Mr. Bracken was President and CEO of America’s Mortgage Company in Springfield, Illinois for 11 years before it was purchased by the Prudential Insurance Company.

In 1987, Mr. Bracken was named Boss of the Year by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce. In 2008, Bracken was awarded the “lifetime achievement award” – The Eagle Award – by the National Association of Real Estate Brokers. In 2009, the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) of America awarded Bracken their “lifetime achievement award” – the Andrew D. Woodward Distinguished Service Award. The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) also recognized Bracken in November 2009 with their “lifetime achievement award” – The NAHREP Founders Award. In October 2015, he received the “lifetime achievement award” – The Trailblazer Award from the National Bankers Association, and in May 2019 he received the Champion Award from the Asian Real Estate Association of America.

He is the Past President of the Illinois Mortgage Bankers Association; the St. Louis Mortgage Bankers Association; the Missouri Mortgage Bankers Association and served 10 years on the Board of Directors of the MBA of America. He earned his Certified Mortgage Banker Designation in 2009.

Bracken earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Management from Eastern Illinois University. He played professional baseball before his career in financial services and is in the Sports Hall of Fame in his hometown of Decatur, Illinois.
